Debt Collections Officer

The Role

Daily you will recover outstanding accounts on behalf of your clients together with negotiating solutions to disputed cases across various commercial industries.Administrating your own client bank will be a priority task with client contact crucial to business expectations.This role is office based with no field work.

The Candidate

This challenging role is target driven with a focus on achieving target for both you and your clients.Self-motivated & resilient, your ability & desire to achieve your target and manage your client base must be priority.

Previous debt recovery in a commercial environment is a necessity. In addition, you must be organised, motivated with excellent written, verbal and PC skills.

Ideal candidate will be able to show ability to “think outside the box” and show solutions to obtaining payment other than the traditional legal route.

Details

Working hours are Monday to Friday, normally 8.30am to 5pm with the option for a later finish time once a week when required. An established company we offer an excellent salary based on experience with the potential to earn 50% of your basic again in commission/bonus.

LITIGATION OFFICER

 The role is as a member of the Litigation Development (Collections) team.  As such, a Litigation Officer is expected to maintain a high standard of performance as part of the team. A Litigation Officer is expected to manage their individual clients whilst maintaining collection targets.

Litigation Officer s report to the Head of Collections & Directors when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• meet collection MAPs (Minimum Achieved Peformance)
• contribute and support the department whilst other colleagues are absent

Accountabilities

• ensure conformity with SGP’s Compliance Document and the information therein
• respect other members of staff at all times – provide a non-sexist, non-racist, pleasant working environment to all colleagues
• promote a positive work environment

The main elements of the role are, though not restricted to, the following:

• actively seek and disperse new and otherwise unknown collection information to enhance both collections and the services provided by SGP
• provide accurate information on all correspondence, written or otherwise

• establish and maintain professional, cordial relationships with assigned clients.
• provide clients with regular updates either verbally or electronically
• respond to client requests within reasonable timescales
• deal with debtors in both a professional but firm manner to achieve the maximum settlement figure
• ensure funds are recovered in the most cost effect manner for both SGP and your client.
• provide debtors with accurate information at all times
• maintain and action activity diary with accuracy
• enhance the Litigation team by providing both help and support for colleagues including both client and debtor activities

• any other duties as may be reasonably requested by a Director from time to time.

The Product

With the current economic climate the survivors will be those who take a pro-active approach to getting their invoices paid.  We provide a Lifetime product with a fixed price tariff and are unique in the industry for doing so. By using a fixed price tariff we set ourselves apart from the “have a look at the car the Director drives and the building they work from – then lets see how much we can charge them” mentality, which is too common in the debt recovery industry.

There are currently over 4.7m companies in the UK. Less than 0.1% use an external recovery provider.

Training and Support

All Representatives will be trained in both our industry and sales process.

The Person

SGP are recruiting experienced and driven Senior Sales Representatives. You must be able to effective communicate your ideas, have the desire to work independently, manage your own diary/schedule and work in a dedicated and local Postcode area.
Debt Recovery experience would be a distinct advantage as would experience of dealing at Director level and generating leads.

Remuneration

The role is ideal for a self employed person to work on a full time basis.
This is a Commission-only based role with no caps on earnings. Successful individuals in this industry earn upwards of £50K p/a. You will also receive a Fuel Contribution

You are required to have your own vehicle, insured for business and in good working order.  You will also require internet access and your own phone.
